Introduction :
NGO Forum in collaboration with MISEREOR, Germany has been implementing a 3-year project titled “Human Resource Development for Sustainable WatSan Programme". The project is being implemented with the objective to strengthen the human resource network throughout the country by providing training to the partner NGOs, CBOs, private sector and community people for implementing WatSan Programme effectively and efficiently. A number of training courses (basic and refresher), orientations, meetings, etc. have been facilitated for enriching the knowledge and upgrading the level of competency of the staff of partner NGOs and CBOs. In order to assess the appropriateness and effectiveness of the extended services by NGO Forum, an external evaluation has recently been completed. The overall findings of the evaluation group has been satisfactory and the group has acknowledged that the trained staff and community people are contributing much in ameliorating the existing poor WatSan and hygiene situation of the country. Among a number of recommendations, the external group stressed on the need to continue more follow-up measures on the performance of the project beneficiaries and also ascertained a number of areas, which should be brought into consideration under the human development efforts. To achieve the 100% coverage of safe drinking water and use of sanitary latrine among the beneficiaries of the partner NGOs & CBOs.

Development Objective :
Improved Capacity of partners to plan and implement sustainable water supply, sanitation and hygiene promotion programme, with increased focus on human resource development.

■ Training on leadership and management for VDC members. ■ Training on Alternative Safe Water Technologies for private masons.
■ Training for Women UP Members on WatSan promotion.
■ Training on Popular Follk media for local cultural Groups on WatSan campaign.
