Project Background :
Danida has been supporting the
Government of Bangladesh in its efforts towards eradicating
poverty and its concomitants--mortality and morbidity--through
improved water supply and sanitation facilities and promotion
of better hygiene and improved environment since 1972. It has
been providing support to NGO Forum since 1992. Since January
2000, Danida has been supporting NGO Forum under the Water
Supply & Sanitation Sector Programme Support (WSSPS).
The WSSPS has been under
implementation being divided into 2 phases. The WSSPS phase-I

the LGI Capacity Building Project and the Knowledge
Development & Training Networking Project.
